Doyle Roofing Helps Save Rogers City Area Senior and Community Center with Full Roof Replacement
The Rogers City Area Senior and Community Center recently faced a serious building emergency. The existing roof system had failed, causing active leaks throughout the building, interior damage, and major deterioration to the metal deck. The condition of the roof created concern about the roof structure and rooftop equipment, and the nonprofit community center was facing the possibility of shutting down due to limited funding for repairs.

Located at 131 East Superior Street in Rogers City, Michigan, the Rogers City Area Senior and Community Center is an important gathering place for the local community. When the roof system began failing, the damage threatened more than the building itself. It threatened the center’s ability to continue serving area residents.
Doyle Roofing assisted in securing donations to replace the entire roof system and heating system. The company also donated much of the labor, acted as the general contractor, and served as the center’s main point of contact throughout the project. This level of involvement helped move the project forward when the organization needed support the most.
The new roof system included Versico 60 mil TPO membrane installed over two layers of 2.9-inch polyisocyanurate rigid insulation. The project covered approximately 7,000 square feet and provided the building with a durable new commercial roofing system designed for long-term waterproofing protection.
For a commercial building, especially one serving the public, a leaking roof can create widespread problems. Water intrusion can damage insulation, decking, interior finishes, mechanical systems, and the overall safety of the facility. At the Rogers City Area Senior and Community Center, the roof had deteriorated to the point where repairs were no longer enough. A full roof system replacement was necessary.
