Doyle Roofing, Inc. recently completed a specialty roof restoration project at the historic Legs Inn restaurant in Cross Village, Michigan. The roof at Legs Inn had been deteriorating and leaking, creating the need for a careful restoration that would protect the building while preserving the character that makes the property so recognizable. George Smolak contacted Doyle Roofing, along with other contractors, during the 2025 season. In the fall of 2025, Doyle Roofing was selected for the project.

The project was originally scheduled to begin May 18, 2026. Due to weather, work was delayed until May 20. Even with the delay, Doyle Roofing completed the roof restoration on Friday, May 22, in time for the Legs Inn season opener.
As reported by 9&10 News, the restoration temporarily removed the famous cast iron stove legs from the roof as part of the work to preserve the nearly century-old building. For a landmark like Legs Inn, those details are part of the story. The goal was not just to replace a roof. The goal was to protect the building, stop leaks, improve waterproofing, and preserve the visual identity that visitors recognize immediately.
